I wasn’t a big fan of bugs.
I could hear the cicadas chirping, or buzzing, or.
Small pings from the air signaled 'bugs'
A false alarm, my eyes and the brush of my long hands confirmed it,
I still question my hair
Stars spawned sporadically
It was warm enough for mosquitoes tonight,
but not low enough, on the roof,
I didn’t like bugs.
Too bright a light would block out all the stars,
One star was not a star.
Hello
Hello
Would you like to come with me?
Do you want me to?
…
Could you give me more of a pitch? I have been enjoying the roof recently.
You could be in space.
Will I age?
Yes.
Will I be changed significantly?
Yes.
…
…
Have other people done it before?
Yes.
Oh.
…
I’ve been trying to slow down recently.
I've no time for this.
Owl hoots, moon bright; late evening.
Lighting flickered off in the background set.
The designers really nailed it tonight.
Autumn.
I didn’t like the light from the ship.
Less stars, already less from the neighborhood.
I didn’t like the light from the neighborhood.
It was all going to be a road soon.
I’ve been trying to be better about what I “should do” recently.
…
Honestly, I should. Thank you for offering. But, I don’t want to.
…
It’s a very nice night.
A cow moo'd, in agreement, I hoped
Stars filled the sky, one extra returning
Could also maybe feel a bug or two…
Uncertain, so certainly time to go inside.
I wasn’t a big fan of bugs.
